The success of our school and district partners over the past decade has been a direct result of our partnership model where we collaborate with Texas teachers and administrators to build easy, efficient, and effective programs.
How do we address the needs of all Science learners in Texas?
We believe the strength of our Dynamic Science curriculum comes from our partnership with Science authors and editors all across Texas. That’s why we’re introducing our Meet the Authors’ Series so you can get to know the people who created our unique Science content for Texas learners.
Our fourth interview is with Amanda Szabo. Amanda has tackled content for both Physics and IPC for our Dynamic Science Program.
Amanda has been teaching for ten years, and her wide range of experience covers middle and high school Science to homeschooling her own elementary aged children. Her favorite subject to teach is Physics.
Today, we’re so excited to share this interview between Robyn Shulman and Amanda Szabo.
Robyn Shulman: Amanda, can you please share a bit about your background?
Amanda Szabo: I have been teaching for ten years, and my experience ranges from middle and high school science to homeschooling my elementary aged children. My favorite subject to teach is physics. I love to read about the history of science and how scientific understanding has continued to evolve over the millennia.
Shulman: What part of the 2024 Texas State Science Adoption did you create?
Szabo: My biggest contribution was to the physics TEKS videos and some of the IPC videos and writing the initial drafts for the Physics Engage Phenomena.
TEKS Video Lesson Highlights
Shulman: What was your favorite part about creating the Dynamic Science Curriculum?
Szabo: I enjoyed figuring out how to represent complex physics concepts in understandable and relatable ways.
Shulman: What advice would you give to teachers who use Summit K12’s new Dynamic Science program?

Szabo: Do not be intimidated by the phenomenon if you haven’t taught with them before. They have been designed to guide you and your students through the learning process, and you will find them to be engaging learning experiences.
Shulman: Thank you so much for sharing your story with us. We look forward to more of these great interviews!
